Als ich an meinen erste Büchern arbeitete, überlegte ich sehr lange, welches Genre denn nun für mich passen würde. Dabei war die Bandbreite groß, und blieb doch beim recht oberflächlichen Hauptgebiet wie Sci-Fi oder Horror, Gaslicht oder Fantasy. Meine Kochbücher waren dabei ein Anfang um erste Erfahrungen mit dem Schreiben überhaupt zu sammen.

Dann begann ich mit Noah, es gesellte sich Mortimer dazu und Soar wollte auch in die Geschichte. Jetzt arbeite ich an Rudy und weiß genau – DAS ist mein Genre, Tiergeschichten aus der Sicht der Tiere erzählt.

Wie geht es dir, wenn du schreibst? Hast du dein Genre schon gefunden?

Seit 2017 spuken mir ein paar Tiere durch den Kopf, wo ich mir denke, das könnte – ala long – auch eine Geschichte ergeben:
die „hardcore“ Möwen von Helenna!

2017 waren mein Mann und ich in Montana auf Urlaub, erst ging es über den Flughaben von Denver, dann hinauf nach Helenna und schlussendlich 10 Tage Butte. Seit ich in den USA diesen Urlaub erleben durfte, kommt für mich Urlaub in Österreich nicht mehr in Frage. Wer schon EINMAL in den USA Urlaub machen durfte, vor allem in Montana, der hat den ewig weiten Himmel gesehen, diese traumhaft schöne Landschaft, in die man sich einfach nur verlieben kann.
Die letzte Nacht verbrachten wir in dann in einem Hotel in Helenna, nahe des Flughafens. Dort nutzten wir noch die Zeit und spazierten herum, fanden riesige Grillen (OMG) und Möwen, die bei 30 Grad plus auf dem Asphalt saßen – in der prallen Sonne! – Daher auch „hardcore“ Möwen.

Nun, vielleicht nach dem nächsten Urlaub 😉

Then I started with Noah, Mortimer joined me, and Soar wanted to become part of the story. Now I am working on Rudy, and I know precisely – THIS is my genre, animal stories told from the point of view of animals.

Since 2017, a few animals have been haunting my mind, where I think – ala long – this could also result in a story:
the „hardcore“ gulls of Helenna!

In 2017 my husband and I were on vacation in Montana, first, we flew from Denver, then up to Helenna and finally ten days in Butte. Since I was allowed to experience this vacation in the USA, vacation in Austria is out of the question for me. If you have ever been on vacation in the USA, especially in Montana, you have seen the eternally vast sky, this beautiful landscape, which you can fall in love with.
The last night we spent in a hotel in Helenna, near the airport. There we used the time and walked around, found large crickets (OMG) and seagulls sitting on the asphalt at 30 degrees plus – in the blazing sun! – Hence „hardcore“ seagulls.

Well, maybe after the next holiday 😉
